Instructions
- Set pot to saute, add olive oil, Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Cube steak into bite-sized pieces and sear on all sides, then turn pot off. Pour in 1 cup of your broth and scrape stuck-on pieces of meat off the bottom of the pot to deglaze, ensuring no bits remain.
- Pour in remaining broth, potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and remaining seasonings. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
- Place the pressure cooking lid (the one that isn’t attached) onto the Ninja Foodi, ensuring it is sealed correctly. Press the pressure button, select the high setting, and set the cook time for 4 minutes.
- Allow the pressure to naturally release for 1 minute after cooking is complete, then perform a quick release of any remaining pressure.
- Carefully remove the lid and add the halved mushrooms. Place the lid back on, slightly ajar, for 5 minutes to allow the mushrooms to soften. If you prefer a thicker broth, you can set the Ninja Foodi back to sauté. In a separate bowl, whisk together some of the hot broth with 3 tablespoons of cornstarch until smooth. Stir this slurry into the soup, allowing it to bubble gently and thicken to your desired consistency.
- Serve hot, garnished generously with fresh parmesan cheese on top for an extra layer of flavor.

For most soup recipes, you’ll generally use a quick pressure release rather than a natural release once the cooking time is complete. However, if you are cooking a larger or tougher piece of meat beforehand, such as a beef roast, it’s often beneficial to allow for a slow or natural pressure release. This extended period helps the meat tenderize further and remain exceptionally moist. Similarly, recipes like pulled pork benefit greatly from a slower pressure release method. After the natural release, you can then manually release any remaining pressure and proceed with the subsequent steps of the recipe.
Now, let’s delve deeper into our fantastic steak soup recipe, a true highlight among Ninja Foodi soup recipes.

For this steak soup, you can truly use any type of beef cut you prefer. While London broil was utilized in our specific preparation, feel free to choose your favorite cut, or opt for whatever is on sale and offers great value at your local butcher or grocery store. Flexibility in ingredients makes cooking more enjoyable and budget-friendly. Here’s a general idea of what you’ll want to have on hand to create this incredibly hearty and flavorful meal:
Mastering the Perfect Steak Soup in Your Ninja Foodi
The specific herbs we recommend for this steak soup are detailed within the printable recipe card below. Remember that seasoning to your personal taste is key. Feel free to adjust the quantities as you stir and at the very end of cooking. A little extra pinch of basil or thyme can significantly enhance the flavor profile. Don’t be afraid to taste and tweak to achieve your desired balance of flavors.

Now, let’s discuss how to properly store leftover soup. Since this soup contains a good amount of liquid, using freezer bags might be an option if you plan to lay them flat to freeze. However, for convenience and optimal preservation, I highly recommend using airtight containers. Once the soup has cooled to room temperature, seal it well. It will remain delicious and safe in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
If you don’t anticipate reheating the soup within that 3-day window, then packaging it for the freezer is the best approach. Freezing will extend its lifespan to several months, making it perfect for meal prep or those busy evenings when you need a quick dinner. When you’re ready to enjoy it again, simply transfer the frozen soup to your refrigerator overnight to allow it to thaw gradually. Then, pour it into a microwave-safe dish and heat for 1 minute, stir thoroughly, and heat for another minute or until piping hot throughout.
Should the soup appear a bit too thick after reheating, don’t worry – it’s an easy fix! Just add a small amount of beef broth or water and stir until it reaches your preferred consistency. This adjustment is particularly common for creamy soups or stews. Serve your reheated soup with a fresh side salad or some crusty bread, and you’ve got yourself a second fantastic meal that tastes just as good as the first, all without costing you anything extra! We’d love to hear about your favorite Ninja Foodi soup creations in the comments below!
The recipe featured in the card above utilizes cubed steak to create a robust and hearty beef soup. However, any cut of beef can be cubed into bite-sized pieces and used for this versatile dish. I’ve even successfully used flavorful chuck roast, which becomes incredibly tender under pressure. The beauty of the Ninja Foodi is its ability to transform even tougher cuts into succulent, melt-in-your-mouth components for your soup.
