Cherry Cheesecake Egg Rolls
Our easy cherry cheesecake egg rolls recipe is good!! Deep fried to crispy in oil, you need 3 ingredients to make our dessert egg rolls with a can of pie filling, cream cheese and marshmallow fluff.

Since we were “on a roll” this month making all different kinds of egg rolls we thought cheesecake egg rolls would be good. They were a better dessert egg rolls than we had even imagined.
These finger food treats are faster than making our cheesecake in muffin tins recipe but have similar flavors and ingredients. This is no bake so it works better during the hot months though. We will show you below how to wrap each one with your filling and fry them until crispy!!
Now we typically will go as easy as we can which is why we use packaged goods instead of making homemade pie filling but you could go all the way. In that case we do have a post on how to make Homemade Egg Roll Wrappersbut store bought is almost identical.

You will want a package of Egg roll wrappers, you can find them in the refrigerated section in your grocery store. They are larger than the won ton versions which is important so you can fill with more goodness.
Ingredient notes
Yes you can, the directions would be the same. In this case you will want one can of cherry pie filling which is different than canned cherries because this one includes the ooey gooey sauce inside too which you want. The cream is optional as well, we don't always add it at all when making cherry monkey bread.
You can find a small tub of marshmallow fluff in the baking section near the cake mixes. With a block of cream cheese (we used low fat cream cheese this time and it was still good) you will make the no bake cheesecake filling.
And you will need vegetable oil for frying in a pan on the stove, or deep fryer.
We made pizza egg rolls the other day for dinner and they were so good that it was time for dessert!! We couldn't believe it had taken us so long to try something different with egg roll wrappers. Dusted with powdered sugar to serve and cooked to a golden brown served warm, these are now made on a regular basis
Tips
Tip: Do not overfill them. add filling to the middle as you see here. You want room on the ends to fold over so the contents don't ooze out. For a more detailed instruction on how to roll egg rolls We have this info.

Use the same can to make other goodies with them too like our strawberry bread puddingyou can use cherry pie filling for this one too! There's a video in the recipe card below showing you how to make these dessert egg rolls and the entire recipe too:
How Long to Fry Cherry Cheesecake Egg Rolls
In order to ensure you will get them golden brown and crispy on the outside without being mushy you need to make sure your oil is hot enough to begin with, a consistent 360-380 is ideal. If you don't have a thermometer, drop a little piece of egg roll in and see if it begins to fry immediately but isn't too hot where it burns fast. This will take about 15 minutes
Then you should put each one in for about 1 minute per side or until they are lightly browned. Timing will vary depending on the temperature of your oil and how brown you want the outside to become of course but 2 minutes total is about right.

How do you make egg rolls not soggy?Biggest tip is to ensure your oil is hot enough before adding your rolls. Whether you are making dessert egg rolls like we show you here or for dinner you should heat oil to 350 degrees F. Then gently lower down your pieces and they should immediately fry to a golden brown in 1-2 minutes on each side. Oil that isn't hot enough will get soaked in and make them soggy vs. crispy.
Should you pre cook egg roll filling? If you are adding meat into the middle then yes you should precook it for the best results. If making egg roll desserts like we show you here that is not necessary. If you add raw ingredients you will need to cook it longer to get to a safe internal temp and by that time the wrapper may be too brown.

Other pie filling recipes we love
You can use the rest of it to create a sort of cherry cheesecake dip on the side. Or cherry pie filling dump cake. Make our Fruit strudel with puff pastry or our fun Upside down cherry pie
Our cherry monkey bread is always a hit and uses many of the same ingredients shown here. 2 ingredient cherry brownies use the same pie filling and are so easy. Great when you need to bring something sweet to a party because everyone loves them and are super cheap to make.
