Christmas Cookie Mix Fudge

Have you tried this?? We had to when we saw it on social media real quick. Sounded interesting to use sugar cookie mix to make semi homemade fudge! There are tons of ways you can tweak this too. This used white chocolate chips so that the colors would shine thru. Use semi sweet chips for a whole other flavor. Candies on top like our peppermint fudge is fun too.

Really, once you make one batch you're going to want to change things up. use the same basic measurements but you could use chocolate to make coal fudge instead. Pair that with dark chocolate chips and get a deep flavor. Other variations depend on how big your imagination is. You'll need

Ingredient notes

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz that is thick, not thin evaporated
  • A few cups of white chocolate chips is what we like if we add colors into the mix
  • Coconut oil will help you melt chocolate chips in microwave
  • Butter salted, softened or use dairy free stick alternative
  • Sugar cookie mixor your choice of flavor but small bags you see above
  • Sprinkles will bring color like red and green seen here

Equipment

This will be made in a 8×8 or 9×9 pan. If you doubled this for a larger batch you could use a 9×13″ pan instead. Use a piece of parchment paper inside so you can lift it out to slice with a sharp knife nicely when solidified. Can be used to wrap it up to store later on too (if you have leftovers).

Cookie batter with colorful sprinkles in a parchment-lined pan, being smoothed with a spatula, brings to mind the richness of cookie mix fudge made with condensed milk.

We loved these when our girls were young but wanted to help bake in the kitchen. Especially during the holidays when they wanted to do all the things but we worried about using heat sources. NO problem with this Christmas dessert idea. Our lunch lady peanut butter bars was another fave.

Use the parchment paper to lift the fudge from the prepared baking dish. Use a sharp knife to cut into equal sized squares and serve. We like to cut what we are going to eat. If we have any left over a solid chunk is easier to wrap up tight to stay moist for later.

You can make white chocolate fudge with marshmallows here too. This is NO bake too meaning you'll need to heat it up to get it to melt and meld together, but no need for your oven. We love that.

Kitchen questions

What's the best way to store fudge?

You never want to keep what's left in your fridge. If you melted the ingredients well enough to begin with it will harden in a few hours. When cooled, wrap your batch in plastic wrap tightly or inside foil. Store on your counter at room temperature and it will stay fresh for a few weeks this way.

What temperature should fudge get to?

You want it to reach the soft-ball stage which ideally should reach 234°F to 240°F. At this temperature, the sugar in the mixture dissolves and begins to set properly when cooled, creating the smooth, creamy consistency good fudge is known for. Use a candy thermometer for the most accurate read.

  2. Use our air fryer gingerbread cookies recipe to make men or cookies your kids can decorate
  3. Butter Pecan Fudge could be made with spice flavored mix
  4. Then throw in a few store bought treats in as fillers

We are sure you have one you make each year that you could share. The best are those with a story on the backend like our Lebkuchen recipe. It was something our Grandma made only in Dec. and made a tin for each family with a few others. We only got like 4 in that tin and we got dibs on those because we only got a few.
