Easy Kale Juice Recipe

Like we said, we love buying locally grown California produce for many reasons. First of all….why not support the state in which we live in? The food that is grown in California drives the state and U.S. economy. California farming is one of the largest employers in our state.

Overall is a vital part of our local communities. It makes sense to buy local right??!! You may think you need to visit a farmers market in your area but actually there are many items at your local grocery store too.

We live in the beautiful city of Temecula, and although we have good wine & wineries here we also have farms that grow fruits and vegetables. At a grocery store down the road they focus on organically and locally grown produce.

You can find many things that are either from Temecula, or have been grown on a California farm. As you can see they are priced comparably to other produce items grown outside the state so it makes sense to buy LOCAL!

Juice Recipe with Kale

We picked up the kale we would need for both of our easy kale recipes as well as some carrots, locally grown tangelo tangerines and California grown fuji apples we would use for our kale juice blend. It is helpful especially when you first try a green drink to add some fruit like we did with our green smoothie with pineapple.

Ingredients

  • 2 stems kale with leaves removed, remove stems and discard
  • Mandarin oranges peeled, seeded
  • Apples peeled and cored
  • Carrots peeled

This is how you make our simple kale juice recipe with curly kale. We have a recipe card at the bottom of this post too. YOu can keep it handy or come back time and time again. Mix it up with using different apples since each has it's own distinct taste.

How to Make Kale Juice with Fruit

  • Get our your masticating juicer and you'll need 2 of each item above (2 large leaves of kale, not two bushels).
    • (and spinach if you want extra health benefits)
  • Then you will want sweeter fruits and veggies to tone down the strong kale and spinach flavors.
  • Peel your tangelos, cut the core out of your 2 apples, cut the tops off your carrots and take the thick stem off of your 2 leaves of kale.
  • Put them in your juicer and it will come out this pretty color! Seriously….even our kids love this easy kale juice blend.
  • You can't taste the kale and it has a clean flavor (you may never buy bottled juice again after you've tasted how good this is).

Now here is another tasty way to use kale, make kale chips…..seriously, kale chips are totally good!
