Slow Cooker Pork Chops and Gravy

My Grandma's boneless slow cooker pork chops and gravy recipe always turns out moist and tender for dinner. Made creamy with cream of mushroom, onion soup mix and gravy mix, these 4 ingredients make our family's favorite dish in no time.

If you are looking for the best way to cook boneless pork chops and gravy this is it. What we love about this comfort food meal is you can throw in all the ingredients in the morning and after work you can enjoy Easy Crockpot recipes when you are home with little prep required.
How Long to Cook Boneless Pork Chops in Slow Cooker
Of course there is a bit of variance depending on whether you use 2 inch thick pork chopsmedium sizes (which is recommended here) or thin pork chops but in general you are looking at a cook time of 5-6 hours.
We have made all sorts of different sauces to cook meat low and slow too. Like our Crockpot Roast beef and gravy you throw it all in, mix and let the meat get tender. With some fresh mushrooms mixed in with a packet of Lipton onion soup mix + condensed cream of mushroom soup gives this one pot meal a ton of flavor.

Ingredient notes
This time boneless pork chops were used. They are easier to eat and more tender at the end of the day. We think they fit better in the pot too. If you must use bone in that is fine, it may need a bit more time. Either way you always want to ensure it reaches a safe 145 degrees internally before consuming.
If you have a homemade onion gravy of yours that you swear by and don't like using condensed cream of mushroom soup then by all means use that. You want enough where the meat is submerged in it so it stays nice and moist. We have even used our gravy for meatloaf if that is what we had on hand.
For the seasoning we are making things easy with 2 packets of dry mix. One is Lipton onion soup mix you are likely familiar with. We make meatloaf and sometimes coat our baked pork chops in it too because it's so versatile.
The second one is a brown gravy mix. You may have bought this in the past to make the obvious with broth. In this case we are using it as seasonings and the drippings from the meat will mix with it as it cooks to create a rich thick sauce you will love.
You can add some more mushrooms too if you want. We suggest that you do and baby bellas are our favorites because they are a bit firmer and don't get as soft cooked for hours. We add them to our Crockpot chicken and gravy too to add vegetables into the mix.

Can You Cook Frozen Pork Chops and Gravy?
Yes!! We shared with you here how to cook Frozen Pork Chops in Crock Pot. If you wanted this specific sauce then use that with the timing listed above. Actually, whether your meat is fresh or frozen doesn't make a big difference when slow cooking! We also have instructions for frozen pork chops in Instant Pot for faster timing.
Do you need liquid to cook pork chops in slow cooker?
Yes and no. In this case we aren't added any water persay but there is moisture in the condensed soup so that counts and is enough because as it cooks the meat will release some juices to thin that out a bit and create enough moisture to steam the meat so you can cut it with the side of a fork when done. You can thin it out a bit more at the end with a little broth but no you don't need a lot.
Can you put raw pork in slow cooker?
Most definitely. We do this all the time with this pork tenderloin Crockpot recipe and have made Crockpot pork chops bone-in too. Some prefer to sear the outside on medium high heat until golden brown for a bit of texture and to keep the moisture locked in there. You can but this step isn't necessary either.

Tips for Success
For an easier cleanup when done you should spray the inside of the slow cooker with non stick cooking spray. You want to mix together the brown gravy mix, onion soup mix, and cream of mushroom soup together in a small dish before adding half to bottom.
Then when you add your pieces of meat you want to kinda' layer them with the sauce so everything is nicely coated and the flavors seep in. You could easily fit 8 or as few as 4 chops at a time depending on their size. Then coat the top with the rest of your sauce so all proteins are coated well.
About 30 minutes before this is done, make a batch of mashed potatoes and serve this dinner recipe with the sauce over the top. If you want to thin that out whisk in some beef or chicken broth. Season with salt and pepper if desired and enjoy. You can use other dry mixes too to add a bunch more flavor too like our slow cooker ranch pork chops variation.

You won't miss it at all, the flavor is out of this world without it and you don't miss the added calories either. If you can find these babies on sale at the store buy a bunch. Use a few for this and then cook them in a bunch of other ways too.
How to save leftovers
Best way to save pork when you are done: First off don't get rid of that good sauce!! That is golden and must be used when you save it for later on. You always want your dish to cool off and not be warm when you transfer it out of the pot into your container. When they are room temperature transfer into a freezer bag or plastic container with an airtight lid. In the fridge it goes and will save well for up to 3 days. We like to eat it again for lunch the next day.
If we have some taters left we will put those on the bottom with this on top even to keep those moist as well. Spoon as much gravy over it all as you have so it doesn't dry out. Then transfer to a microwave safe dish when you are ready. Reheat for about 1 minute, stir and then 1 more minute or until it is as warm as you want it to be.
We can almost say that it is even better the next day. We think the flavors get even more enhanced with a bit of time to sit and soak it all up even longer.
Other family friendly meals you'll love
We mean air fryer pork chops are good and more on the healthier side without a sauce needed at all. You can even wrap them in bacon and cook 'til crispy this way too! Or use a different meat with this same sauce for Crockpot meatballs and gravy.
